Digging deeper, it turns out that the latest version (v2.82) of the Realtek HD Audio Driver is buggy on the Windows 10 platform. In the search for a solution, I discovered that many quite a number of Windows 10 users are also going through the same dilemma. The Realtek HD Audio Driver boasts of support for Dolby audio, Dolby’s Digital Theater Systems (DTS), Surround Sound, six-channel Digital to Analog Converter (DAC), and others to boost your PC’s audio performance up a notch. The sound issues with Windows 10 build 1903 have become more rampant than ever. On previous versions of the Windows OS ( Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1), the Realtek HD Audio Manager works just fine. I don't quite know how i managed to get such a top tier PC, I am not rich. When you can’t find the Audio Manager, or it goes missing, there are two ways to fix the problem.

I made sure to select the proper 5.1 speaker configuration. It might not make a difference, but I also plugged in 5.1 speakers via the regular 3.5mm analog speaker jacks on the motherboard, and I was using them for a while. I also notice that the audio codec is now showing as ALCB00 whatever that means : I notice that the Realtek HD Audio control panel is the "generic" blue one with just a small MSI logo in the corner. I'm not sure how his driver differs from the modified drivers provided by Finotty but I'm just glad it works. After rebooting, I was able to see the DTS Interactive (5.1) default format in Realtek control panel:įinally got this working with a driver from forum user from this post: Add "DisableProtectedAudioDG" of DWORD (32bit value) type and set it to 1.ħ. Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Audio". After installation, open the Windows "run" box by pressing Windows Key + R, type in "regedit" without quotes.

If asked to install unsigned drivers, choose "install anyway".Ħ. Finally I downloaded realtek_hda_6._dts_ddl_experimental drivers above and installed them as normal. I also disabled driver signature enforcement: I downloaded EasyBCD and ticked "Allow use of unsigned drivers" under Advanced -> Advanced, then rebooted.ĥ. I would then use DriverStoreExplorer to remove any sign of leftover drivers and reboot.Ĥ. Each time I changed drivers I would uninstall the Realtek package via Control Panel, and then reboot.ģ. Firstly, be aware that I tried about 20 different Realtek HD audio driver packages including R267, R270, R280, R281, R282, and none of these worked.Ģ.
